Welcome
Dear Candidate
Thank you for expressing an interest in the role of Head of Health and Safety at the University of Bedfordshire.
The University is a modern, innovative university with a heritage of top quality education going back more than 100 years. With over 1,000 academic and professional services staff split over campuses and study centres in Luton, Bedford, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, London and Birmingham, we welcome more than 20,000 students from over 120 countries.
As an experienced senior manager having worked in a medium to large organisation, you should hold the relevant qualifications and membership for recognised health and safety bodies along with strong knowledge of health and safety legislation. You must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in giving health and safety advice and guidance.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and maintenance of health and safety strategies, policies and practice, and to advise managers on how the University can provide a safe, healthy and secure environment across all campuses for all its students, staff, visitors and contractors. We are a multi-site, multi-faceted organisation with a range of estates and facilities, ranging from new laboratory facilities to historic buildings used by thousands of students and staff in the heart of Bedfordshire and beyond. We hope you find the information provided on this site useful. For an informal and confidential conversation, please contact our advising consultants at GatenbySanderson, Elizabeth Pick or Paul Aristides on 077083 42455 or elizabeth.pick@gatenbysanderson.com or paul.aristides@gatenbysanderson.com
Yours faithfully
Donald Harley
